When I was in nursing school I liked making acronyms to help me remember all the biology, pharmacology, psychology, medical terminology, etc., you get the picture. I thought it made learning fun and of course it helped me ace my tests. So as I was thinking on the word Blog, I said that should represent something because it doesn’t even look like it should be a word. So I attached my own meaning; B-Being, L-Led, O- Of, G-God! So now whenever you see the word BLOG, it will remind you to let go and let God.
Romans 8:13-14 (AMP)
For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
God is not a follower He is Leader. God wants to lead you and me everyday in every way. Leading and directing us on the paths that He has chosen. God is an active Leader. He is an involved Leader. The Bible reminds us that we are laborers together with God. If you are just sitting around waiting on something to happen in your life you are not imitating God. God is not idle. God is not lazy. God is an initiator not a critical spectator. God is not just sitting in Heaven issuing out orders for everyone to do. No, God is leading the way, He is going before us, making crooked places straight, breaking into piece gates of brass and cut a sunder the bars of iron, (Isaiah 45:2). In other words, when we let God in front, He will remove and destroy every obstacle that would try to hinder or stop our progress. So we need to get out of the way and let the true source of all power and wisdom lead the way.
Sometimes when I go for a jog around the lake I forget to charge up my I-pod. Half way through the run my I-pod will flash me a message, “Connect to power source”. If I don’t soon connect it to its power source I will lose all function, thus the I-pod can no longer assist me on my journey. When I go outside to jog, the course that I take generally does not have power outlets every few miles, as a matter of fact it has no power outlets. If I want power to last the full course of my journey, my equipment has to be fully charged up when I start the course.
When we follow God, we can always rest assured that He is always packin the power. Got God, Got Power! God will be faithful to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. But to have access to God’s supply you must, follow be a follower of Him. You can’t be out there doing your own thing, living according to your plans and expect the power source to be available.
Being Led of God is simply just that, let God lead the way. Take time to listen to Him and receive answers and instruction. He will direct your every step if you will let Him. Being Led of God is not hard or difficult; it is not grievous or burdensome. Jesus said in Matthew 11, my yoke is easy and my burden is light. It becomes hard when we try interweaving our natural thought out plans with His divine plans.
STOP! LOOK! LISTEN!
- STOP- trying to do it in your own strength, God has strength available for you and His strength is made perfect in weakness.
- LOOK- away from everything that tries to distract you from the perfect will of God for your life and look to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith and the true Shepherd of your journey.
- LISTEN- to what God is saying to you, through quiet meditation in His Word and frequent purposeful pauses of your spirit quietly yielding an inward ear to His Spirit throughout the day.
God loves you so much. You are His very own son/daughter and you belong to Him. God has not left you here in the earth alone to try and figure out your life all by yourself. He has not abandoned His fatherhood nor withdrawn His help from you. God the Father desires to lead and guide you and to direct your every step but you must be willing to give up the stirring wheel and let Him have control.
